Grand Tribunal is a friendly, fan-run weekend celebrating Ars Magica with tabletop sessions, boardgames, and late-night gossip about hedge wizards.

What is Grand Tribunal?

A small, welcoming convention focused on Ars Magica and historical fantasy roleplaying. Expect one-shot games, workshops, panels, and the legendary Saturday freeform.

Who runs it?

It is a community event organised by volunteers and supported by friends from the wider RPG scene. We keep it affordable, cheerful, and magical. Ars Magica author CJ Romer and Andrew Oakley put it together each year.

No corporate overlords. Just magi, grogs, and good company.

Dates

14th–16th August 2026 (Fri evening → Sun teatime).

Venue

Cheltenham, UK. Full address and accessibility info released with tickets. All venues are mobility accessible.

Community

Roughly 50/50 gender balance, welcoming of NB and trans attendees, and a zero-tolerance harassment policy.
